Interview with Zhang Xiaoping: Spreading the Long March Spirit requires moving, moving and acting.
China Economic Net Yudu October 11 (Reporter Cheng Qi) This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March. Recently, a reporter from the Cultural Industry Channel of China Economic Net visited the cities along the Central Red Army following the research activities of the Long March cultural relics protection in National Cultural Heritage Administration. At the first stop, we came to Yudu County, Jiangxi Province. Yudu County is the seat of the Gannan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the provincial Soviet government. It is also the assembly starting point of the world-famous 25,000-mile Long March of the Central Red Army. At that time, the Long March cultural relics left behind were very rich. In 2014, Yudu County raised more than 10 million yuan for the national patriotic education base — — Maintenance, reinforcement and renovation of the memorial hall for the departure of the Central Red Army’s Long March. At present, the memorial hall is also the only thematic memorial hall in China that shows the history of the Central Red Army’s Long March, and receives more than 300,000 visitors every year.

Zhang Xiaoping, deputy curator, has been engaged in museum work for more than 30 years, talking about memorial halls and the spirit of the Long March. He is full of affection. Chen Gai’s exhibition was also planned and executed by him. On October 9th, in Yudu County, Zhang Xiaoping accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from China Economic Net.

The following is an exclusive interview:
China Economic Net reporter: How many Long March cultural relics are there in the memorial hall at present? What channels were collected?
Zhang Xiaoping: There are 1,065 revolutionary cultural relics in our library, including 3 national first-class cultural relics, all of which were donated by the people and their descendants in the places where the Red Army and Soviet cadres have been active.
China Economic Net reporter: At present, how many tourists does our memorial hall receive every year?
Zhang Xiaoping: Since the memorial hall was built, before the exhibition was upgraded, the number of visitors per year was about 200,000. After the implementation of free opening in 2007, the threshold has been lowered. Although we have no income, for ordinary people, the audience is wide. Nowadays, adults often bring their children or friends to visit. Last year, 350,000 people visited. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, and tourists from all over the country and abroad are coming in droves. So far, more than 400,000 people have come to visit.
China Economic Net reporter: After the exhibition is upgraded, what effect will it have on the audience?
Zhang Xiaoping: We feel that as the spirit of the Long March heats up, more and more young people are willing to know about the Long March. During the summer vacation, college students come to our memorial hall for social practice. We will ask them about their knowledge or what they want to get. They said that no matter in the process of study or work, they will encounter more or less problems, and they will be more impetuous and easy to give up after encountering bumps. Through visiting and studying this exhibition, they feel that that should not be done. They should learn from the Red Army, carry forward the spirit of the Long March, get rid of impetuousness, overcome difficulties and face difficulties.
We hope that by holding such an exhibition, the audience will have this kind of awareness, so that we can be more gratified to do a good job in the exhibition. If we can communicate and interact with college students during the exhibition, then our exhibition will be successful.
Therefore, in the planning and implementation of the exhibition, I have an idea that when visiting the exhibition, we should first move people, and after being moved, he will be moved, and after being moved, he will take action. Then these three "movements" are all a cognition for everyone, so let him agree.
China Economic Net reporter: What investment have we made in the protection exhibition in recent years?
Zhang Xiaoping: In 2004, with the help of national tourism development funds, we spent more than 2 million yuan to build this memorial hall. At that time, a simple exhibition was set up, and the exhibition was relatively backward. There was no sound, light and electricity, only simple pictures and words were displayed. In the "80th anniversary of the Long March" in 2014, because our county is one of the poverty alleviation and development counties, more than 10 million people were raised to expand the memorial hall, and some contents were added. The environment and architecture experienced by the Red Army during the Long March were integrated into the exhibition by using the methods of sound, light and semi-landscape painting, so that more people could feel the atmosphere of education when they entered the venue. After seeing this exhibition, many old people feel that the exhibition has restored the authenticity of history: this is our "homesickness" and we used to live in such an environment.

In addition to the investment in exhibition, in 2009, we expanded the monument to the starting point of the Central Red Army’s Long March, and raised more than 10 million yuan to expand the Central Red Army’s Long March Memorial Park, from the original 6 mu to 60 mu, a tenfold increase. And enrich the layout and content of monuments and memorial gardens, from black and white in books to a history that can be touched and felt, so that the audience can feel this history on the spot.
China Economic Net reporter: This memorial hall is also a key project invested by the central government. What kind of plans do we have in the future?
Zhang Xiaoping: At present, we have some ideas. All along the Long March, because Yudu is the source of the spirit of the Long March, on the one hand, we hope to use the platform of the memorial hall to build a publication Expo center on the Long March, so that more experts and scholars, or visitors, can consult materials or look at publications on the Long March here; In addition, a lecture hall will be set up, experts will be invited to give lectures, and some films can also be shown. On the other hand, we are also thinking about how to dig out and sort out the memoirs or interview records of our previous interviews with the old Red Army, including the records of veteran cadres in the Soviet area, and make full use of them to show them so that more people can understand them.
In academic research, we are also doing some research articles around the "Long March of the Red Army".
We also have some plans for the whole Yudu County. We are now located on the north bank of Yudu River. The preliminary plan is to build a patriotic education base on the north bank. On the south bank, more than 600 mu of land will be used to develop the Long March experience project, so that more tourists can come here and stay a little longer, which will also promote the development of the tertiary industry in the whole county.
China Economic Net reporter: What do you think is the biggest problem in your current work?
Zhang Xiaoping: As a grass-roots worker, we also have some small feelings. From the study of the spirit of the Long March, because we are at the grassroots level, it is difficult to get in touch with some high-level seminars. However, if there is an interaction along the Long March and an alliance is established, we can exchange information and share resources, which in itself is a continuation of the Long March spirit. For example, if there is a Long March source choir in Yudu County, we can perform along the Long March and sing long March songs, so as to contact the feelings of cities along the Long March and better spread the spirit of the Long March.
