Zhang Jun, deputy director of the Consumer Goods Department of Anhui Economic and Information Office, said that with the intelligence of home appliances as the main direction, home appliance enterprises have stepped up technological transformation. Originally, they needed a workshop production line with 50 or 60 people, but only one or two workers were needed after the transformation.
At present, Anhui has two national-level new industrialization demonstration bases of household appliances, namely Hefei and Chuzhou, national platforms such as the National Household Appliance Product Quality Supervision and Inspection (Hefei) Center and China Household Appliance Research Institute Chuzhou Branch, and four national-level enterprise technology centers such as Whirlpool and Meiling. The industrial bases in Hefei, Chuzhou and Wuhu have become important home appliance manufacturing centers in the world. The output of four major household appliances in Anhui Province has exceeded 100 million units for two consecutive years, ranking second in the country: every three refrigerators, every four washing machines and every five air conditioners in the country, one is made in Anhui.

The improvement of innovation development index mainly benefits from the continuous optimization of innovation environment, the continuous increase of innovation input and the accelerated emergence of innovation output. Among them, innovation output contributed the most, contributing nearly 40% to the improvement of the province’s innovation index.
