On the evening of May 21st, Chery Fengyun T9 officially announced the selling price. The selling price range of new cars was 159,900-169,900 yuan, which was 30,000 yuan lower than the previous 159,900-199,900 yuan. As the first SUV in Chery Fengyun’s new energy product series, Fengyun T9 is available in 5 seats and 7 seats, equipped with Kunpeng Super C-DM hybrid system, and its comprehensive battery life will exceed 1400km. With reference to the product positioning of this car, it is expected to form a competitive relationship with new energy SUV models such as Haval’s second-generation big dog PHEV, Jietu Shanhai L9 and Zero Run C11.

In terms of appearance, Fengyun T9 is built on the super hybrid platform of Chery Mars architecture, which is very similar to Chery Tiggo 9 in appearance. The front face is decorated with the closed front grille design common in new energy vehicles, decorated with decorative strips inside, with flat headlight groups on both sides, and the exclusive Chery brand logo of Fengyun series is adopted, and the overall recognition is good.

On the side of the car body, the Chery Fengyun T9 adopts a hidden door handle, and the smooth waistline design makes the car look more slender. The suspended roof design, hidden door handle and dense spoke rim add a touch of fashion. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of Fengyun T9 five-seat version are 4795/1930/1738mm and the wheelbase is 2770mm respectively.

As for the interior, Fengyun T9 is relatively simple in overall design, with a symmetrical layout, a double screen design consisting of a 10-inch LCD dashboard and a 15.6-inch floating LCD dashboard, hollowing out the lower part of the auxiliary dashboard to increase storage space, and it also has two charging interfaces. In the configuration part, some models of Fengyun T9 will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, SONY audio system, 256-color ambient light, 540-degree panoramic image, front seat massage, front seat heating/ventilation, W-HUD head-up display system and L2+ level driving assistance function.

In terms of power, Fengyun T9 adopts two plug-in hybrid systems, which are the same in traditional engines, and it is the fifth generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI hybrid engine. Based on the positioning of Fengyun T9, the main competition of this vehicle in the future is expected to include BYD Tang DM-i, Jietu Shanhai L9, Zero Run C11, Xingtu Eta Ursae Majoris C-DM, Geely Yinhe L7, BYD Song PLUS DM-i and other new energy SUV models to form a competitive relationship. The data shows that from January to April 2024, the cumulative sales volume of BYD Song PLUS new energy was 111,900, including 77,200 plug-in hybrid models and 24,100 Geely Galaxy L7.

At present, the competition in the plug-in compact SUV market is particularly fierce. There are many products in the market that have been recognized by the market, such as BYD Song PLUS DM-i and Geely Yinhe L7. Although Fengyun T9, as a latecomer, has no obvious shortcomings, its long board advantage is not obvious. Of course, it is still competitive with Chery Automobile, but according to the current price of Fengyun T9, its attraction may not be too great.
