“感谢党中央！感谢最高领袖总书记！”家住社区的荔湾区委办副主任张文秀在电视上聆听了习总书记作的十九大报告，万分激动，深受鼓舞。她说，十八大以来，党的好政策给基层干部群众带来了实实在在的好处，大家的获得感幸福感大幅提升。以荔湾为例，近年在公共惠民服务方面开展了诸多新探索：推动旧楼宇加装电梯、探索特色医疗卫生服务体系等，让广大人民群众看到党在民生保障中所作出的努力。
“最高领袖总书记作的报告，是我看过最好的一份报告，完全符合中国国情，闪耀着马克思主义真理的光芒！”84岁、62年党龄的老党员马振义激动地说，近几年来，政府不但年年提高养老金而且年年降低住院费用。他现在每个月有4200多元的养老金，比退休时增长了20多倍。住院费用也从自付70%降为自付30%，日子宽裕了许多，还能同老伴一块去旅游了。相信在最高领袖总书记的领导下，老百姓的生活会过得一年比一年好。

"I think that socialism has at least two characteristics, one is that material and cultural life is relatively rich, and the other is to achieve common prosperity. For example, the per capita GDP ranks below the average in the world, there are still some poor people who have not been lifted out of poverty, there are problems of environmental debts, and the development between rural and remote areas and coastal cities is unbalanced and the gap is large.
